The 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series will see significant roster changes as Parker Retzlaff departs from Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport. At just 21, Retzlaff announced his departure through a heartfelt message on social media.
His announcement marks the end of a two-season tenure with the team. He posted: “As my sophomore season in the Xfinity Series comes to an end, I am announcing that I will not be returning to Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport in 2025. “I can’t thank Jordan Anderson and John Bommarito for giving me my first full time opportunity to race in the Xfinity Series and for allowing me to chase my dream. Thank you to all my sponsors, team members, and supporters for all your encouragement while driving the No. 31 these last two years.
“As I close this chapter in my book, I am so grateful to have had such a supportive team behind me.” Jordan Anderson Racing, established in 2018 by Jordan Anderson, has made steady advances in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Initially a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team, it transitioned into the Xfinity Series, becoming a prominent competitor within a short span. Retzlaff, over his two seasons, competed in a substantial 75 races. Despite the rigor of the series, he claimed notable finishes, including three top-five placements at tracks including the Daytona International Speedway and Atlanta Motor Speedway. His career also highlights 12 top-10 finishes, demonstrating his consistent performance on the track.
In the 2024 season, he captured two pole positions, one at the Richmond Raceway and another at Martinsville Speedway. Despite these successes, Retzlaff’s 2024 season wasn’t without challenges. The season was particularly daunting, with 12 races ending in DNFs. Prior to the announcement of his exit from the team, Retzlaff reflected on the 2024 season, posting to social media: “Reflecting on this season- one of the hardest years in racing in my career.
This season was filled with what seemed like endless races where nothing would go our way. “So many things out of our control but so many that were. This year was tough but it doesn’t show how hard these guys worked week in and week out. There were weeks where we were all so beat down and wanted to give up. “This team stood behind me, no matter what.
There is no I in team. This team has turned into so much more for me, family. Relationships that I will have for the remainder of my career. There are not enough words to say how grateful, proud and badass the crew I had behind me was. “Last night was bittersweet.
There was nothing more that I wanted for my team than to bring home a good finish. But unfortunately, things were cut short. No matter what, they still stood behind me. So thank you 31 team,@JARnascar, all my sponsors and supports for one hell of a 2024 season.”
