Despite performing so well for Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea last season, with the Argentine labelling him as ‘priceless’ to the BBC, Conor Gallagher has been made available for transfer this summer.
We had reported that Atletico Madrid and Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur were keen on Gallagher but the midfielder himself was said to not be too keen about the prospect of moving away from Stamford Bridge.
Gallagher was selected for Euro 2024 in Germany but was criticised for his performances in the competition, despite Arsenal’s Declan Rice labelling him as unselfish.
A summer transfer away from England could now be on the cards.
Chelsea’s stance on Gallagher sale made clear
We had also reported that Chelsea’s stance on Gallagher was that he is available for transfer this summer if a suitable offer arrived.
Gallagher has just one year remaining on his contract at Chelsea so this summer represents the last time that the Blues could get a decent fee for the midfielder.
The Englishman was said to be frustrated that Chelsea had not opened talks over a new deal and now Atletico are in talks over a deal.
HITC is told that Gallagher is considering his options as Chelsea’s offer of a new contract is still yet to materialise. Gallagher was not overly keen on moves to Aston Villa and Newcastle, who both showed an interest.
