The San Antonio Spurs needed to make a splash in the first round of the NBA Draft, and that’s exactly what they did.
They took UConn star Stephon Castle with the No. 4 selection, and some analysts even had him as the second-best player in this class.
Castle showed up to the event donning a huge and shiny chain with a giant castle on it.
And while it may have seemed pretty obvious to everyone who took a glimpse at it, a reporter still asked him what the castle was about.
His response? Well, it stood for his last name (via Erik Slater).
A veteran reporter asks Stephon Castle what kind of “bling” he’s wearing:
“This is a castle, for my last name.”

Oh, of course, that makes plenty of sense.
The Spurs are getting a defensive freak to pair with Victor Wembanyama.
While not a traditional point guard, he has claimed that he would rather play with the ball in his hand, and he’s a solid offensive initiator.
On the defensive end of the floor, he can be a pest on and off the ball, and he has the size, length, strength, and athleticism to make an impact there right away.
The big question is whether he’s ever going to be able to become an efficient shooter.
He’s shown some touch from the free-throw line, but he’s more of a one-dimensional scorer at this point in his career.
Given the Spurs’ struggles at the point, he’s likely going to get plenty of opportunities to work as a playmaker, and if this pick hits, the Spurs could have opposing teams in jail with him, Jeremy Sochan, and Wembanyama locking up on defense.
