The Blues recently pulled out of the transfer of Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid. The Spanish ace underwent a medical with them, but the deal was cancelled due to image right issues.
The club have now turned back their attention to Osimhen and talks are ongoing with Napoli over a swap deal. Lukaku could act as a makeweight to reduce the overall valuation for the transfer.
Napoli have been holding out for Osimhen’s €130m release clause, but Chelsea are optimistic of bringing down the price to around €95m, should Lukaku head in the opposite direction.
Still, the Chelsea would need to convince Osimhen. The Nigerian has no plans of joining the club unless his wage demands are met. He has no desire to accepting a pay-cut at another club.
There is no interest from elsewhere. PSG and Arsenal have cooled their interest in his services due to the price tag.
