Trae Young has evolved into a true star for the Atlanta Hawks since being drafted by the Dallas Mavericks and traded to the Atlanta Hawks in 2018. Despite essentially being the face of the Hawks, it is time for Atlanta to trade him. That team that will end up trading for him will be the Toronto Raptors.
Young has been consistent over his six-year career so far, averaging 25.5 points per game, 9.5 assists, and 3.6 rebounds. Young is extremely talented with the ball in his hands with his creative ability and overall on-ball play making. Young and Dejounte Murray are very similar players, while thriving more on-ball than off-ball, creating an issue for the duo to thrive together when on the court. Young needs a team where it’s his own team to lead, which is where Toronto comes in.
Immanuel Quickley is an upcoming free agent, and was a big part in helping Toronto after being traded last season. That impact though came from him averaging 18.6 points per game, 4.8 rebounds, and 6.8 assists. Quickley was good, but he wasn’t a game-changing talent like Young.
With having another scoring talent in RJ Barrett who doesn’t clash with Young’s style is crucial, and with Young’s passing ability, it opens up the offense even more for the Raptors. Trae Young would be the team where he can be the focal point and will take them back to championship contention.
