There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Besiktas are now showing serious interest in Southampton forward Paul Onuachu.
The 30-year-old spent last season on loan at Trabzonspor and his performances for the Super Lig side have brought him to the attention of other Turkish clubs.
Sabah have reported on the latest developments regarding the future of Onuachu after he recently returned to Southampton following his loan spell.
It’s reported Besiktas could be in the market for a new centre forward with Vincent Aboubakar expected to leave the Black Eagles this summer. According to Sabah, Onuachu has become a major target for Besiktas after recently being linked with the Istanbul club. The Turkish outlet say Southampton would want around €12m for the forward.
Reports say any move for Onuachu will depend on Besiktas’ new manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst. The Dutchman was installed as their new head coach this week and the idea of signing the player will be presented to him by the board.
Onuachu made 25 appearances last season Trabzonspor, scoring an impressive 17 goals. He’s contracted to Southampton until June 2026.
