This is Alabama’s third meeting with the Crimson Tide and its first time playing at Camp Randall in almost a century.
No. 4 Alabama is coming to Madison this Saturday. This is the third-ever matchup with the Crimson Tide, and first time Alabama will play at Camp Randall in nearly 100 years.
Alabama is one of the most dominant college football programs over the last two decades. They were known for stellar defenses during Nick Saban’s time and dominate run game. But recently, some of the best receivers in the NFL have come out out Tuscaloosa.
In the Crimson Tide’s first two games of the year, they average 232.5 yards in the air and have scored five passing touchdowns. Quarterback Jalen Milroe has also yet to throw a pick, so it will be a tall order for the Badgers’ secondary that is already prepping for massive downfield verticality.
“They like to open up with a lot of the vertical passing game, you know, run a lot of deep routes,” Badgers corner Ricardo Hallman said on Wednesday. “They’re fast, their bodies on the outside, faster bodies on the inside. They have a pretty fast, decently fast receiver group. So I think that’s what their challenges as you can see in the passing game, they’ve taken a lot of shots downfield I think. Coach trusts went over it. Today. They have. Like 18 Super Explosive, which their play is over 20-30 yards, so they take a lot of shirt shots down the field. So you just got to Be ready for that challenge.”
