Though Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark have a tense rivalry, it hasn’t stopped her from picturing the two rookies as a glamorous team.
Angel Reese would “definitely” play on same team as Caitlin Clark despite rookie rivalry

Among the sporting world’s most popular stars, Angel Reese provided her hotly-anticipated insight on a variety of topics during the debut episode of her “Unapologetically Angel” podcast Thursday.
A partnership between Playmaker and Shaquille O’Neal’s Big Podcast Network, Reese used her new platform to manifest a future partnership with Caitlin Clark, despite the deep-seated rivalry forming between the two rookie superstars.
“We’re gonna play on the same team one day, I’m sure. We’re gonna definitely play on the same team one day,” said Reese.
‌Reese and Clark have been at odds throughout women’s basketball’s recent surge in popularity, first meeting in the 2023 NCAA National Championship Game. The March Madness finale in Dallas averaged 9.9 million viewers, easily shattering the event’s all-time television audience, as tournament MVP Reese led LSU past Iowa, 102-85.
The celebrity duo met again a year later in the Elite Eight, where Clark exacted her revenge in front of another historic TV audience that peaked at over 16 million viewers. The Hawkeyes would ultimately come to an end against dynastic titans South Carolina, which became the fifth-most watched non-football event on ESPN over the past five years.
‌Each selected in the first round of April’s WNBA Draft, Clark and Reese continued their rivalry on the professional stage, meeting three times before the Olympic break in August for the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky, respectively. Tensions erupted during their opening matchup, where Reese applauded the efforts of Chennedy Carter after she committed a flagrant foul against the Fever point guard.
A few games later on June 16, Reese would receive a flagrant of her own after a reckless block attempt connected with Clark’s head. These incidents sparked a flurry of outrage against the star forward, and while making sure to absolve Clark of any wrongdoing, she highlighted the severe abuse from her fans.
‌”I think it’s really just the fans. Her fans, the Iowa fans, now the Indiana fans, that are like, they ride for her, and I respect that respectfully,” Reese said. “But sometimes it’s very disrespectful. I think there’s a lot of racism when it comes to it … but when it comes to death threats — I’m talking about people have come to my address, followed me home, it’s come down to that — multiple occasions people have made AL pictures of me naked, literally.”
A one-off opportunity to watch Clark and Reese as teammates emerged later that summer when the two were paired together on the WNBA’s All-Star Team. Clark struggled from the field but dished out 10 assists on the evening, helping fuel a trademark Reese double-double and a surprising 117-109 victory over the Team USA.

“I could tell I was a good fit”: 3-star forward Chase Thompson goes in-depth on Iowa basketball official visit
The three-star forward from Minnesota breaks down his official visit with the Iowa basketball program.
Alexandria (Minn.) three-star forward Chase Thompson was one of the three official visitors in Iowa’s 2025 class on campus this past weekend for an official visit.
Thompson, who ranks as the No. 169 overall prospect in the country on the 247Sports Composite, has been a top target on the board for Iowa the last couple of months since the Hawkeyes offered and Iowa is seen as a major player in his recruitment.
‌This weekend in Iowa City was a big one for Thompson to see what the program was like first-hand.
The season is just two weeks old, but the 2024 College Football Playoff picture is already in serious flux after another slate loaded with surprises. From Notre Dame falling in what could be the biggest upset of the year to Texas manhandling the reigning national champions on the road, there were a handful of extremely impactful results in the early portion of the campaign. Those changes to the national pecking order set up a handful of key games in Week 3.
Non-conference rivalry showdowns and a couple of league openers headline the upcoming schedule and constitute some of the tightest betting lines on the slate. Old Pac-12 rivalries take center stage out west while SEC action creates huge games for a handful of teams looking to make a statement.
Circa Sports unveiled its Week 3 opening lines, highlighting the betting favorites and underdogs on a schedule that features a handful of marquee matchups.
The Mike Norvell bowl features two teams trending in opposite directions. Florida State is just a one-score favorite over Memphis (Norvell’s former program) after it sustained its second-straight upset loss to open the season, and a matchup with one of the Group of Five’s top teams is far from the most favorable opportunity to right the ship.
The rekindling of the Backyard Brawl — which guaranteed eight matchups from 2022 to 2032 — has already delivered a pair of tightly contested battles, and this year’s installment promises to continue that trend. Vegas tabbed this weekend’s clash in Pittsburgh as a pick ’em, which is quite fitting given that the Panthers and Mountaineers split their last two meetings.
Texas stock could not be much higher after the Longhorns’ beatdown of Michigan. This team cemented itself among the strongest national championship hopefuls with the convincing win, and Quinn Ewers looks like a bona fide Heisman Trophy candidate after he picked apart one of the nation’s toughest defenses in a one-sided victory. UTSA will have its hands full after it surrendered 49 points to Texas State.
The second leg of the rivalry series between Deion Sanders and Jay Norvell could deliver similar fireworks to last year’s overtime thriller. Colorado looked clearly overmatched in another rivalry game over the weekend against Nebraska, but the Rams are a more manageable foe, even with their explosive ability through the air. Tensions may flare in a game that last season was plenty chippy.
