The Mavericks have taken control of Western Conference Finals, leaving Minnesota with two games in hand and now two games away from their first Finals appearance since winning the title in 2011.
Dallas stole home-court advantage by pulling out a win in another thriller, winning Game 2, 109-108, after Luka Doncic’s game-winning stepback three in the closing seconds. The patented jumper capped off a 32-point, 13-assist, 10-rebound triple-double and added to the superstar guard’s collection of thrilling postseason moments.
The Mavericks have been finding different ways to win all postseason and look like the team Nico Harrison envisioned when making the trade for Dereck Lively II on draft night and then making moves to acquire Daniel Gafford and P.J. Washington at the trade deadline. Each has grown into his role and has been a major help to Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
The Timberwolves now find themselves in the same position that the Denver team they defeated last round was in, having to keep hope alive on the road after dropping the first two games. In order to claw back into the series in Game 3, improved performances from Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns will be needed. Both games only being single-possession losses is a positive for the Wolves, considering their stars haven’t got it going yet. Can Dallas keep rolling and take even further control of the series or will Minnesota start its comeback journey?
Here is everything you need to know about Timberwolves vs. Mavericks, including how to stream Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals.
