Chelsea trained at Cobham on Monday as they begin their preparations for Saturday’s London derby against West Ham at the London Stadium.
The Blues ground out a hard fought win against Bournemouth last weekend thanks to Christopher Nkunku’s 86th minute winner and will be looking to make it back to back wins for the first time in the league this season with victory against the Hammers.
Enzo Maresca has been handed a huge boost ahead of the game as Enzo Fernandez, Malo Gusto, Romeo Lavia and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall returned, but there was still no sign of Reece James.
Sancho trained away from team-mates
Having made an impressive debut against Bournemouth in which he set up Nkunku’s winner and was named man of the match, Sancho didn’t train outdoors with the rest of his team-mates on Monday.
However, it’s nothing to worry about for Chelsea fans as Mail Sport journalist Kieran Gill has explained why that is and what Sancho has been doing.
He took to X.com and said:
“Jadon Sancho not involved in Chelsea training outdoors today but no concerns as was working indoors in a recovery session. Still building towards full fitness as 45 minutes vs Bournemouth were his first in the Premier League this season. West Ham next.”

Sancho could be in line for his Chelsea start against West Ham after impressing against Bournemouth, but it’s likely his minutes will be managed as he builds back up to full fitness having hardly played at this early stage of the season.
It remains to be seen if the England international will nail down a regular spot in Maresca’s starting line-up, but if he carries on performing how he did against Bournemouth he will be one of the first names on the team sheet before the end of the season.
If anything Sancho gives Chelsea another brilliant option from the bench if they need to change a game as demonstrated last weekend and the Blues will hope they can provide an environment in which he can thrive and rediscover the form he showed at Borussia Dortmund.
