On Sunday, the Reese’s Senior Bowl revealed that Virginia Tech running back Bhayshul Tuten would participate in the 2025 game. The Senior Bowl is the NFL draft’s preeminent showcase for draft-eligible players, with all 32 NFL teams heavily represented in Mobile, Alabama, for a week in January.
As it turns out, Tuten isn’t going from Blacksburg to Mobile alone.
Virginia Tech’s official X account revealed five Hokies, including Tuten, who would attend the Senior Bowl.
RB Bhayshul Tuten
WR Jaylin Lane
WR Da’Quan Felton
DT Aeneas Peebles
CB Dorian Strong
All but Strong came to Blacksburg via transfer. Tuten (North Carolina A&T), Felton (Norfolk State), and Jaylin Lane (Middle Tennessee) enrolled at Virginia Tech before the 2023 season. Peebles is in his first season for the Hokies after playing at Duke for four seasons. Strong is in his fifth season with the Hokies, having earned All-ACC honors last season.
Surprisingly, defensive end Antwaun Powell-Ryland is not on the initial list. APR is second nationally with 13 sacks and is also firmly on the NFL’s radar.
Whether Powell-Ryland lands in Mobile or not, congratulations to each of these Hokies. If you are invited to the Senior Bowl, you are considered a draftable player. And each of the above Hokies will be drafted.
Virginia Tech has two regular-season games remaining, beginning with this weekend’s game at Duke.
