Sancho swapped Manchester United for Chelsea on transfer deadline day (August 30) on a season-long loan, with an obligation to buy him permanently next summer for up to £25 million (€32m). After being unveiled at Stamford Bridge at the weekend, Blues supporters have got a glimpse of what he can do on the training pitch – with some claiming he has been “saved” from United’s “graveyard”.

In response to the video of Sancho’s first session under Enzo Maresca, @SM13_CFC tweeted: “Thank God we saved him from that Graveyard,” while @IcedOutPalmer wrote: “We have our own Ronaldinho.”
Meanwhile, on the Instagram video, feroze17 commented: “He’s gonna be a star here! 🔵🔥 Cant wait for his debut!”
maxwell__uko posted: “Sancho scoring against Manchester United, I’ll be there💙😂.”
And kellychris_10 even went as far as saying: “I know this is crazy to say and he isn’t there yet but….is it crazy to say his dribbling kinda reminds me of Eden hazard😭😂. It’s either I’m trippin or I just miss hazard man ngl😭😂.”
Sancho is looking to rebuild his career after a sorry spell at United following his £73m ($95.7m) move from Borussia Dortmund in 2021. A paltry 12 goals and six assists in 83 matches and a falling out with manager Erik ten Hag sum up his difficult time at Old Trafford, but now he has a chance to move on from that troublesome chapter and forge some success at Chelsea. The 24-year-old will also have his sights set on breaking back into the England setup ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
When the international break comes to an end next week, Sancho could make his Chelsea debut away to Bournemouth on September 14, or a week later at West Ham. Either way, the former Dortmund loanee will be itching to get game time and hit the ground running at the west London outfit.
