What Crystal Palace fans can expect from £13million signing after five-year deal is agreed with medical soon
Crystal Palace have reached an agreement to sign 26-year-old Senegal forward Ismaila Sarr.
Crystal Palace will finally be able to bring Ismaïla Sarr to Selhurst Park, five years after they first showed interest in him. LondonWorld reported earlier in the week that discussions were advanced for the winger to return to the Premier League.
Sarr has a journey similar to that of former Liverpool striker Sadio Mané. Both came from the Generation Foot academy in Senegal and had a taste of French league football before arriving in the Premier League. LondonWorld has been told Sarr was key to getting the deal across the line, as he feels he has unfinished business in English football, having played at Watford between 2019 and 2023. He made 128 league appearances at Vicarage Road and scored 33 goals.
Villarreal were also interested in him this summer, but the player wanted to play at Selhurst Park, having known of their interest since he first burst onto the scene with Metz and later Rennes in Ligue 1. He is now expected to undergo a medical in the coming days, with manager Oliver Glasner yet to decide when he’ll join the team for pre-season. The Eagles will play Crawley Town on Saturday before they fly out to the United States to continue preparations ahead of the new season.

What Palace Fans Should Expect
The 26-year-old is not new to the Premier League, so there won’t be a need for an adaptation period, and he will arrive at his peak age. He has the ability to play on the left, right, and through the middle, giving Glasner options in attack.
He will not be a direct replacement for Michael Olise, but he does have the potential to be a top player who creates and scores goals regularly. For a fee around £13million, he could turn out to be an absolute bargain given how much forwards go for in today’s market.
