The Kentucky Wildcats are set to have a big 5-star visitor in June.
One of the top players in the class of 2025 is small forward Will Riley, who Kentucky has recruited under John Calipari and now Mark Pope. Riley is coming off a huge weekend on the AAU circuit, which included a 42-point effort on 15/16 shooting.
In an interview with Zags Blog’s Sam Lance, Riley revealed that he’s planning to visit Kentucky sometime in June.
“I’ve been talking to the head coach. A little bit of the assistant. I’m trying to set up a visit with them. We’ve [Mark Pope and I] talked briefly, but he’s been talking to my manager a lot.”
No date has been set, but the current plan is for Riley to visit Kentucky and Alabama in June.
The 6-foot-8, 180-pound Canadian is ranked as high as ninth overall in the 2025 class via On3. He plays for The Phelps School in Pennsylvania and holds scholarship offers from UCLA, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Michigan, Villanova, Illinois, and Oregon, among others.
Riley doesn’t officially hold a scholarship offer from Kentucky, but I’d wager Mark Pope has a spot for him. Expect that offer to be officially made during the trip to Lexington if it hasn’t already.
This is a special kid that Kentucky would be very lucky to land. Let’s see if Coach Pope can reel in his first 5-star high school recruit.
